How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

There are essentially two types of data that we can collect when you use our site: 1) anonymous data that is automatically collected by third-party tools and 2) personal data that you provide directly to us through our online forms. These two types of data are in no way related.

Personal Data (Active Data Collection)

Personal information is information that can be used to personally identify you (name, mailing address, email, postal code and telephone number). No personal information will be collected about you unless you have specifically provided your consent by way of an online form submitted to register for a service through our website. You may opt out of providing us with any such information at any time. However, some contact information may be required to register for a service offered through our website or to communicate with you, e.g., if you wish to receive our publications, sign up for a newsletter or submit an enquiry to us. All information collected will be used in relation to the specific request and any business relationship that may arise from the request.

Anonymous Data (Passive Data Collection)

We use analysis tools and other third-party technologies such as Google Analytics to automatically collect non-personal usage-related information when you use our site and/or our services.

Use of Cookies

In certain cases, we receive information that cannot be used to specifically identify you, such as the type of Internet browser you use, the type of operating system you use, and the Internet domain name and/or Internet service provider that you use to access this site. This type of data is collected by means of a standard technology known as “cookies.” Cookies are small data files that are downloaded to your computer when you visit a specific website. By assigning a unique data ID to each visitor, the website can recognize users of the site in an anonymous manner. Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences and generally improving the user experience. They can also help to ensure that advertisements you see online are more relevant to you and your interests. You may opt out from cookies at any moment on your device. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. However, some website features may require cookies to work properly.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to help analyze how visitors use this site. Google Analytics uses cookies. The anonymous information generated by Google Analytics cookies about your use of this website is transmitted to Google. This information is then processed to compile statistical reports on activity on this website only. We use these reports to evaluate aggregate visitor usage so that we can optimize the content, and its marketing, to better cater to your needs and interests. You may deactivate the transmission of anonymous data to Google Analytics at any time by visiting the Google Analytics opt-out page: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

Google Analytics Demographics and Interests Feature
At the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship, we are committed to ensuring that our website contains content that is valuable and useful to the users who visit it. To assist us in this, we have implemented Google Analytics demographics and interests reporting features on our website. These tools allow us to review anonymous data regarding the gender, age and interests of website visitors and adapt our website content to better reflect their needs and interests. Although this information is collected through your Google ad settings, it is not provided to us in a personally identifiable format.

Audience Lists and Remarketing

We use features that allow us to create remarketing audiences. These features use cookies. This makes it possible for ad servers associated with the Google ad platform to deliver targeted ads based on your interests, as determined by the content you have viewed on our site.
This feature can be turned off in your Google account settings: https://adssettings.google.com/?hl=en

Information Sharing

The Fondation de l’entrepreneurship will not disclose, sell or lease any personal information provided through this site to a third party unless required by law. We may need to disclose personal information to a business partner so that they can perform duties directly related to the reason for which you provided the information to us in order to take advantage of a service offered through our site. Anonymous data used by Google Analytics may be shared with other departments within Google, which may in turn use this information to contextualize and personalize ads on its advertising network.

Right of Objection and Withdrawal

As a mentor or mentee, you may choose to make your personal profile private and therefore off limits to everyone except the administrators of the website’s mentoring service. We are committed to honouring your right to object and withdraw your consent regarding the use of your personal information.

The right of objection gives website users the option to refuse use of the personal information collected for some or all of the specified purposes.

The right of withdrawal enables website users to opt out of a database or list, e.g., a mailing list, and ask for their personal information to be removed.
